89 Anderson Street is a mixed use project situated in Portland’s East Bayside neighborhood. The street level contains three retail uses with three stories of apartments above When we first studied the project site we noted its very dynamic characteristics, it is located on the edge of an industrial and residential neighborhood with multistory structures to the North and a large public recreational field to the South. The building design utilizes a diverse material palate including dark brick, gray corrugated and flush metal siding, and copper colored metal siding. We used these materials to create bold and contrasting facades to help scale the building to fit within the existing neighborhood.
